Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have free WiFi?
Yes we have complimentary WiFi available in all bedrooms, public ares and even in our gardens

Do you provide car parking?
Yes, but our car park is limited we have 141 bedrooms, but only 40 spaces. We do not book spaces it is first come first served. There are several large car parks within a few minutes walk from the hotel. They do charge a small fee. The charging period starts at 8am and finishes at 6pm there are no charges on a Sunday. Should you not want to rise early you can pay the night before for a few extra hours in the morning.

Do you serve breakfast and what if you require an early breakfast?
Yes, we offer a full Scottish Breakfast and a fully stock continental selection. Breakfast starts at 7am, but if you require something earlier from 6.30 am the continental selection will be ready and if earlier than that we can prepare you something to take away with you.

How far are you from the train station?
Our back door is directly behind the train station

How far is the theatre from the hotel?
Walking it is around two miles. If you require a taxi please contact the hotel ahead of your arrival and we will be happy to book a taxi for you. There are not so many taxi's around the town if you leave it last minute you may be disappointed.

How late is the hotel open?
We are open 24 hours, we lock the front door once we believe most guest are in, we have a night bell which will alert the night porter

Does the hotel have an elevator?
Yes, to all floors, however there are still steps to many of the rooms. Should you have any mobility concerns please contact reception ahead of your stay so we can allocate you a room on the flat.

What is PEEPs?
Personnel emergency evacuation plan. If you believe you will require assistance if an emergency situation was to happen please contact reception who will agree a plan with you.

Do you have showers or baths?
We have a mix or either shower only rooms, or shower and bath combo's, please let us know your preference when booking

If we arrive early or have a late departure is there somewhere we can leave our luggage?
Yes we have an area where you can store luggage before you check in or after you check out.

I have a voucher why do I need to leave my credit card details?
It is a mandatory step in our booking process and no booking can be made without card details. If you are prepaid there will be no charge to your card, when you arrive and you charge anytghing to your rooms you will have the choice to pay with the card on file or choose another card or cash

If I need to cancel will I be charged?
We have two types of rate. Our prepaid rates do not allow any changes or cancellations. Our Best available or flexible rates allow free cancellation upto 48 hours before arrive thereafter we will charge for the first day of your stay.

I have not received my confirmation e-mail?
Have you checked your junk\spam folder? If you have not received it 48 hours after making your booking please contact us on 01796 472000

Where can I find information on local buses?
The timetables are printed on the bus stops. Going North stay on the same side as the hotel, going south cross the road. The bus stops are next To The Coach House Bar, which is part of the hotel.
