Week 4 of August
It’s coming to the end of the summer season, we are getting the last raises of beautiful sunshine here in Pitlochry, hopefully it lasts a few more weeks until Autumn arrives. This week has been great we had a visit from our owner’s Fionn and Jim who are impressed with the improvements made over the years so much so that they treated me to a lunch at Fonab Castle which was nice. This weekend is going to be a busy one for Pitlochry, With our European guests they will get to enjoy the Edinburgh Military Tattoo’ last shows. Blair Castle Horse Trials are this weekend so a lot of country guests will be coming to the area and admiring the amazing horses. http://www.blairhorsetrials.co.uk/
Week 3 of August
It’s been an "Indian Summer" this week here in Pitlochry, which has been great the town has been busy with tourists and locals enjoying the sunshine. However the down side of a busy town I had nowhere to park the Rolls Royce. Going to head to my first Highland Games this year on Sunday for the Crieff Highland Gathering, I’m looking forward to the dancing events, all the different coloured kilts, and highland games, this will wet my appetite for the Pitlochry Highland Games in a few weeks. http://www.shga.co.uk/events.phpthese type of events make highland life memorable. Fingers crossed for nice weather, however a bit of rain does no harm after all we do live in Scotland!
Great to have Mr Jim Staunton the co-owner of Fisher’s Hotel visit next week, it’s been a few years since he has visited Pitlochry, I hope he will see all the hard work that we have put in. after all my life isn’t always about running around in the Rolls Royce! Have a great weekend.

To talk about more local events there is the Blair Atholl Summer Market taking place this Sunday 14th August 12-3pm at Blair Atholl Village Hall with local produce and craft items for sale, have an afternoon break on Sunday and go visit the market home baking, handmade cards, arts and crafts, herbal plants, Mary's Meals, Tombola the list goes on fun afternoon for all ages!
Week 1 of August
The scene in Pitlochry main street last weekend was indeed unusual. The celebrations of the 325th anniversary of the Battle of Killiecrankie were in full flow and were the start of a whole weekend of 'goings on'. We are quite used to having all the major happenings in Pitlochry on our doorstep, but I have to say this is the first time we have had the firing of a musket. This weekend promises to be a little less dramatic, but just as busy. I, along with the throngs of people on the main street, have been to the weekly Market and picked up my favourite cheese and fresh produce. There was some very interesting garden furniture, but Mrs Fisher's opinion will need to be sought on that ................
